Effective blemish removal products and how to apply them
In order of application. Three products to effectively remove blemishes. Simple yet extremely difficult to find what works for your skin.
No.1 - Omorovicza Refining Facial Polisher
I'm sure you are all familiar with the Omorovicza range (that's a challenge to spell each time) and their base ingredient of Hungarian moor mud. Yes, this product is expensive at USD $95 and yes it is worth it.
The product contains small sand- like molecules in a spectacular blue colour which turns clear once rubbed on your skin. I usually massage in focusing on blemish areas for around 3- 5 minutes before removing the product with a damp, warm facial towel. My skin is left amazingly smooth and not raw! It feels hydrated without feeling like I have a layer of product sitting on top. For my dry skin this is pretty much the miracle exfoliator. It's also available across a range of countries!
No. 2 - Origins Black mud mask
This is an excellent mask for drawing out blemishes and starting the drying process. I used to apply the mask all over my face however I now only use it as a spot treatment as it does tend to dry out my skin. To remove the mask (after it turns hard) I use a cotton wool pad with water or if it’s a particularly bad blemish a toner.
No. 3 - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
This is the best product I have found to
speed up the recovery of a pimple which has been exposed, e.g. you have attacked it. I dab a cotton bud into the drying lotion bottle and apply on the
exposed pimple (be careful not to shake the bottle as per the instructions). After the slight stinging sensation the formula sinks in to the
pimple and effectively dries out the root. The next day the spot is drastically
improved.
One of the best ways to use the Drying
Lotion is before applying foundation or your daily tinted moisturizer. I often
feel guilty piling on foundation/ tinted moisturizer and reclogging the pimple socket however if you apply the Drying Lotion first, wait 30 seconds and then remove
the excess, the lotion will help clear the socket and your top layer of
foundation will do a lot less damage.
One more - Witch Hazel
Introduced by mum, this is a cost
effective, successful solution to blemish management. Be careful not to spread
the witch hazel over your face as it is extremely drying. Apply with a cotton
pad. If you feel this is too strong, wet the pad with water prior to adding the
witch hazel.
